The pandemic is not strong enough to keep men away from being fashionable and flexing their swagger. Here are ten of the top fashion trends that the everyday man can rock.

Fashion, at least men’s fashion, was the last thing on people’s minds last year during the onslaught of COVID-19. However, interestingly enough, despite no work and being stuck at home, many men continued to shop for clothes online. Maybe it’s because many online shops dropped their prices to get their items moving in a pandemic. Or perhaps these men didn’t have anything better to do.

Either way, this means only one thing: that the pandemic is not strong enough to keep men away from being fashionable and flexing their swagger or whatever it is these young folks say nowadays.

So here are ten of the top fashion trends that the everyday man can rock.

1. Nautical

Fashion, just like history, has a way of repeating itself. A lot of past trends make their way back into circulation after some time. They get an update with each reappearance. However, the nautical theme is one of the exceptions to that rule because there’s no topping its coolness factor and swagger.

2. Tech Neck

While every other designer in town had their male models sport fanny packs and shoulder bags last year, Tom Ford took the game to the next level and had his models wear chic designer smartphone lanyard cases around their necks. This is cool and very handy to have especially if you’re the type who misplaces his phone every ten minutes.

3. New Utility

The
utility trend has been making appearances here and there the past few years. Its recent resurgence brings a high-function style that ranges from safari and military type of jackets to cargo and tactical pants. Look at it this way, in case a zombie apocalypse happens. You’re already dressed for the occasion.

4. Bomber Jackets

Bomber jackets for spring may not be exactly news to you, but the recent Spring/Summer 2021 shows have given so much emphasis on this aviation-inspired top. With different looks and designs giving the jacket their own twist, designers apparently are not yet done with bombers. And no one is happier about it than us Regular Joes.

5. Wide Trousers

Thank God for loose trousers! No more of those tight-fitting, crotch-riding slim and skinny jeans that bring maximum style at maximum discomfort. During SS21, designers unleashed a wide array of wide trousers. We gotta trust the experts on this one, yeah?

6. Bold Bermuda Shorts

On top of wide trousers, we’re glad that
Bermuda shorts, also known as walk or dress shorts, aren’t going away any time soon and are here to stay for 2021. Of course, men want to look good, but the truth is, we don’t want to compromise our comfort for fashion. And a pair of Bermuda shorts gives us that win-win situation.

7. Statement Shirts

If you’re the creative and expressive type, rejoice, for statement shirts are expected to be big this year. A statement shirt can be worn under a vest or blazer or even on its own and still cool in many ways. And what’s great about this trend is you can have your very own statement shirt customized with your message. Talk about making a statement and being stylish!

8. Miami Vice Fashion

The ‘80s TV show Miami Vice became a huge hit not just because of its unique concept and heartthrob Don Johnson. It garnered high ratings because it was one of the most fashionable and hippest shows on the tube during its time. Loud neon colors, muted pastels, floral shirts, anklets,
bracelets, cool shades, blazers, just about everything that was rad about the ‘80s can be found on that show. And its fashion is making a huge comeback today with neo-neons and pastel suits coming out again.

9. Sweater Vests

We’ve seen them around over the past decade but not too much for it to become a full-blown trend. However, sweater vests have been slowly but surely making their way back into men’s fashion, and we’re looking at it becoming more mainstream this year.

10. Sandals with Suits

Despite the pandemic sending everyone back to their homes and doing remote work, suits are back in a big way. However, what’s more interesting to note is the number of men wearing sandals with their suits. Could this have been caused by those Zoom meetings that required people to dress professionally at home but figured they’ll wear comfortable sandals since their feet can’t be seen?

There are a lot more trends in men’s fashion that will pop up within the year. Regardless of fashion sense and style, the important thing to keep in mind is that the clothes don’t make the man. What you wear and how you wear them does not define who you are as a person.

So go for the look that makes you feel good about yourself and rock it proudly, my brother!
